Let's Get Tactical, Tactical
In our quest to use social media to build a social media curriculum for the sector, our WeAreMedia project has already involved more than 65 people. You've been contributing articles, photos, videos, and mindshare toward a common cause.
Over the last few weeks, our focus has been on social media strategy, or the bigger picture concepts an organization should tackle before worrying about the tools themselves. We have covered how to know if social media is a good fit for your organization, strategy mapping, meeting resistance, storytelling, engagement skills, and ROI.
(If you haven't shared your two cents in those categories yet, you can still contribute to their modules. We're especially looking for case studies.)
Now, however, we're ready to turn our lens in the direction of the tactical. It's time to think about the tools! Each week, we will continue to introduce a new module and ask you to share your expertise on that topic.
If you're like me, and you have trouble quelling your enthusiasm for the tools in the face of sound strategy, then we've got two weeks planned for you! September 15-29, you're invited to throw caution to the wind and extol the virtues of your favorite social media tools in our Social Media Toolbox.
So, that's what's happening with WeAreMedia as of late -- in short, a whole lot of awesome. And, while we're on the topic of a whole lot of awesome, I thought I'd share this classic with you.

Another time, another planet
Holly,
This video is SO SCARY! Please no more 80's! :)
Jocelyn
Holly,
Love your post!
We're also still continuing to polish the strategic modules in a community - networked way.
This is an experiment of deeper collaboration and engagement in the learning that is embedded in the process of creating the final product (a face-to-face workshop curriculum)
